Lurgan Credit Union Limited is a community based organisation and a member of the Irish League of Credit Unions and is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.  It was established for the purpose of encouraging its members’ to accumulate savings so as to make available loans and additional services for the wider benefit of all the membership.

This is a dynamic organisation currently employing 23 staff and dedicated to developing a range of quality services to its 23,500 members’.

Job Ref: TC1/15 – Temporary Full Time Cashier (to cover maternity leave)

Working Pattern: Tuesday – Friday 9.30am until 5.30pm and Saturday 9.30am until 4.30pm

Job Ref: PTC1/15 – Permanent Part Time Cashier

Working Pattern: Friday 9.30am until 5.30pm and Saturday 9.30am until 4.30pm

We seek to recruit front line staff to work as cashiers responsible for the day-to-day operation of members’ accounts. We are looking for candidates who possess excellent administration skills with attention to detail and the self-confidence to handle member queries to ensure member needs are met. Excellent communication skills together with the necessary interpersonal skills for a team environment are essential.

Essential

  • 5 G.C.S.Es’ or equivalent including English and Maths at grade ‘C’ level or above
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • Experience of dealing with customers, both face to face & via telephone

Desirable

  • Experience of handling and being responsible for cash and cheques
  • Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • OCR word-processing stage 1 or stage 2 or ECDL
  • Experience of  working in an office/financial environment
